No Sumra account, no bank login, no ads, analytics, or tracking. Image recognition and supported voice transcription run on-device. The App Store release does not send payment images, OCR text, ledger data, or voice recordings to the developer or an AI provider.
The system photo picker gives Sumra access only to images you select, without full photo-library permission. Library access is requested separately for scanning a date range or checking new screenshots when the App opens. Selected images use Apple's on-device Vision text recognition; original photos are not uploaded. Images that do not produce a payment result are not retained by Sumra. Selected payment images and items sent through the iOS share sheet stay in a local review inbox until you confirm or discard them.
Entries, ledgers, accounts, budgets, categories, recurring rules, savings data, merchant corrections, preferences, and archived evidence are stored in the App sandbox or App Group container. Deleting an entry removes its local evidence. Uninstalling removes App-managed local data subject to iOS behavior, but does not remove backups or exports you saved elsewhere.
Voice entry is available only when Apple's speech recognizer supports on-device recognition for the selected language. Sumra requires on-device transcription and does not intentionally send recorded audio to a remote speech service.
Sumra uses the network for Apple App Store product information, purchases, purchase restoration, and entitlement checks. Apple Photos may retrieve selected images from your iCloud library under your existing system settings. The App Store release has no user-accessible cloud-AI recognition feature.
Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details. See Apple's privacy practices for App Store purchases.
CSV export and versioned structured-data JSON export are created when you tap an export action, and the destination is your choice through the system share sheet. JSON backups include records and settings but exclude archived evidence images; restore clears image references rather than creating broken links.
For migration safety, Sumra also keeps up to five local automatic structured-data backups for App version/build changes and up to ten local pre-restore backups. They exclude evidence images, stay inside App-managed Documents storage, are pruned automatically, and are not transmitted to the developer.
